We Did It!

When we envisioned coming back to a full season for 2022, we invited you to "Dream" with us.

And You Did!

And We Did!

And We Did It!!

From our first multi-night performances of All Together Now to getting our education programs up and running with our Dance-Theater production camp's original "Back to the 100-Acre Wood: A Winnie-the-Pooh Revue" to our just closed Side By Side By Sondheim, in 2022 we dreamed of who and what we were, are, and could be. We dreamed of how we could tell our stories and expand whose stories get told.

It has not been easy!

The repercussions of the pandemic are felt everywhere - and small professional non-profit theaters are no exceptions.
Finding enough staffing and volunteers (and making do with way too few) was challenging,  but we still managed, with your support, to create quality theater experiences, community outreach, and educational programs that brought new ideas, artists, and old favorites to us all.

We are grateful.

We are particularly grateful to Vermont Humanities for making our first mainstage production of 2022 "Alegwasimek 8thlokadin" possible.
The title translates literally as "How One Dreams: A Storytelling Gathering."
When we designed the series we had no idea what a profound impact learning from and getting to know spectacular Abenaki artists & community leaders would have on us.

We're talking about Bryan Blanchette, Carol Irons, Carol McGranghan, Rick Hunt, Brenda Gagnon & Circle of Courage, Andrea Brett, and Evan Pritchard.
Our students also got to learn from them as part of their youth production of "Pushing Up the Sky".

It was a privilege to bring to life the world premieres of the newest works by old friends Abby Paige and Jeanne Beckwith.

Staging Abby's Les Filles du QUOI? (the daughters of WHO?)  and Jeanne's Both Eyes Open: the Annie Oakley Story (starring Maura O'Brien) were longtime dreams come true!  LNT had been working with Abby since 2017 on developing her show; and the promise and creation of Both Eyes Open was a project that helped get us through the pandemic when we couldn't dream of putting shows on stage just yet!

What a treat to reunite with old friends and to return to LNT's roots of creating original work.

What a treat to get back to full education programs - and to get to ADD opportunities (especially for younger students) to boot. (Thank you Avalon, Brandy, Clay, Erin, Sam, Taryn and Todd!)

And finally- what an enormous gift to get to sign off on the 2022 Mainstage season with a show that reunited us with some of our dearest and longest known collaborators to sing Sondheim!
What a perfect show for Tim Tavcar's onstage swan song.

And we must give the final thanks to our design/production colleagues: Samuel J Biondolillo, Clay Coyle, Cora Fauser, Robyn Osiecki, Brandy Perez, Nancy Smith and Andrew Vachon - some of whom we've known for half their lives! Plus Laura Gist, Ann Harvey, Sarah Menard, Todd Hanley, & Mars, Bill, & Bailey.
Their determination got us through!

We must also send huge thanks to The State of Vermont, Federal Government and Vermont Arts Council for the many Covid-Relief grant programs that kept us going and allowed us to acquire our state-of-the-art Air Purification System.

There's more to come!

Stay tuned for the announcement of our 2023 Mainstage Season.

We've got great education programs, special events and shows coming together.

And coming up even sooner:  special events with Tim Jennings (50 Years of Storytelling) Nov 18 &19; Willem Lange (Christmas Carol: A Ghost Story) Dec 16; and our own Stories for the Season on the solstice!
