Lost Nation Theater has invested over $30,000 to install the Synexis Bio-Defense System which utilizes Dry Hydrogen Peroxide (DHP™) to fight COVID-19 and other viruses within our home in Montpelier City Hall Arts Center.
Synexis DHP™, a patented technology, developed by the military in response to the Anthrax scare, is utilized throughout the professional sports & entertainment industry, hospitals, major supermarket chains and now many hotels as well. It was designed to safely, continuously, and effectively flow throughout indoor, occupied spaces to reduce pathogens in the air and on surfaces by over 98%.
LNT is utilizing funds from the "Save our Stages" Federal Grant Program (spearheaded by Vermont's own Rep Peter Welch) and is hoping that the community will rally and contribute to cover the cost of this important investment.

How does it work?
Synexis DHP™ Technology, also known as Dry Hydrogen Peroxide, is the true gas form of hydrogen peroxide, created by a patented and effective technology—which uses oxygen and humidity naturally present in the environment.
Synexis devices are designed to have air flow across polyester fiber mesh sail (coated with a proprietary catalyst). Synexis devices reconfigure ambient oxygen and humidity into DHP™ molecules.
Since it’s a true gas, DHP™ flows unaided to every corner of the occupied space, reducing viruses, bacteria, mold, odors, and insects in the air, on surfaces, and the most hard-to-reach places.
Synexis is the sole developer of the process by which naturally occurring oxygen and humidity are taken from the air to create Dry Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2), otherwise known as DHP™.
DHP™ is a form of gas whose molecule, Hydrogen Peroxide, is a natural component of human lungs.
Plus, DHP™ occurs at levels well below OSHA’s standard.3
Synexis Devices also underwent rigorous testing by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) and were certified to meet UL2998 for zero ozone emissions.
To achieve this certification, products must demonstrate that they emit less than the maximum ozone concentration limit of 0.005 ppm (5ppb), which is below the quantifiable level for ozone testing. Synexis proudly passed this test.
DHP™ works continuously, (the 24/7/365 kind of continuously) to reduce the levels of microbes in any type of facility from the air and on surfaces.
The DHP™ molecule is structured similarly to a water molecule. The vulnerable structures on microbes, like viruses, bacteria, and mold, attract DHP™ like water. Once found, DHP™ attacks the vulnerable prongs on the outside of the virus, for example, and denatures them.
Then, DHP™ creates rifts in the spherical body of the virus and causes it to rupture. Boom. No more microbe. Just loads of DHP™, continuing the cycle and turning back into water after the pathogen bursts—only to be replaced with more DHP™ from Synexis, targeting the next microbe before you even know it’s there.
Is it safe?
YES. DHP™ is deployed at less than 10 parts per billion, which produces extremely effective microbial reduction at incredibly safe levels of H202. Basically, a single Synexis unit would have to run non-stop for 2.5 years to reach the same concentration of 1 droplet of a 3% aqueous solution of H202, which is the Hydrogen Peroxide you know as a brown bottle inside your medicine cabinet. At these levels, DHP™ concentrations fall far below acceptable safety limits for human exposure established by OSHA.
DHP™ was designed specifically to allow people to safely remain inside the same room where the technology is breaking down microbes. DHP™ will continuously attack microbes while everyone in the space goes about their day, no disruption needed. Hydrogen Peroxide already exists inside human lungs. And the DHP™ from Synexis flows at levels well below those naturally maintained inside the lungs.
