It's the new exhibit in Lost Nation Theater's Lobby Art Gallery by Maayan Kasimov. A compliment to SYLVIA
Vermont is a place where dogs seem to get the appreciation they deserve.
Montpelier-based artist and dog lover Maayan Kasimov pays homage to Lost Nation Theater's production of Sylvia with a collection of dog portraits that will hang in our lobby gallery, October 6–23, 2016.
The Many Faces of Dog is a tribute to important canine friends in her life.
A genuine sense of awe and delight inspires Kasimov's depiction of animals. Informed by the myriad of personalities found in her subjects, her portraits seek to celebrate the jubilant, dignified, thoughtful and playful nature of these enchanting beings.
The collection 'The Many Faces of Dog' is a tribute to canine friends that have touched her life in small and large ways.
Trained in historical photographic processes, Kasimov's aesthetic sometimes echoes the characteristics of antiquated printing methods.
Striving to use low impact processes, she uses non-toxic media and opts for repurposed vintage frames.
