LNT Students make The Lion King Kids Roar to Life Onstage!

Lost Nation Theater’s student performers soar in our Theater FOR Kids BY Kids production of The Lion King-Kids - a fun for the whole family 45-minute adaption of the Broadway Smash!
It all happens in LNT’s wheelchair accessible and air-conditioned home within Montpelier City Hall Arts Center.
3 shows in 2 days in one weekend: 7pm, Friday, June 26; and 2pm & 7pm Saturday, June 27.
This dynamic distillation is based on both the Broadway production led by director (costume and puppet design too) Julie Taymor and the original Disney film.
The Broadway production won SIX Tony Awards - including Best Musical!
The Lion King-Kids features the music by Elton John & Tim Rice from the original movie and tunes penned especially for the Broadway show.
LNT’s production adds authentic African drumming and dancing to the mix through our partnership with Shidaa Projects Inc

Celebrate the Circle of Life with this epic adventure of courage, friendship, and fun as curious cub Simba struggles to find their rightful place, to confront the evil Uncle Scar and restore the Pridelands.
A collection of colorful characters, hilarious and trusted friends join the comedic yet heroic journey.
The Lion King Kids challenges us all to find our inner strength to stand up for what’s right.
The African savanna comes to life on stage with Simba, the spunky lioness Nala, the charismatic meerkat Timon, the loveable warthog Pumbaa, the eccentric but wise mandrill Rafiki, and so many more -as they band together to trek from Pride Rock to the jungle and back again, pitted against the wicked selfish Scar, in this inspiring, coming-of-age tale.
Led by professional designers & directors from across the country, The Lion King Kids is the culminating project of our Summer Youth Musical Theater Intensive.
NYC quintuple threat & educator Alexa Kartschoke directs & choreographs. Jen Greenwood (The Drowsy Chaperone) is our music director, Jessica Della Pepa (The Prom/Drowsy Chaperone) designs costumes & makeup.
LNT founder Kim Bent and incomparable Hannah Clark (designer of Our Town) handle the majestic scenic design & painting. Chicago’s Avi Sheehan transform the space with evocative lighting.
Veteran of LNT education programs Tristan Blumenthal designs the props, while Anna Blackburn returns to stage manage. Shidaa Projects Jordan Mensah offers cultural consultation while Samuel Marquaye serves as lead drummer, and co-choreographer.
Lion King has been around for over 30 years and is beloved! We’re so excited to bring this special 45 minute version of this classic to our community.
