Intense Camps

Not only do we provide programs for youth to learn more about the theater- but we give them the opportunity to be a star!
LNT offers two week performance and technical theater camps.
Our youth performances are one of a kind and an outstanding opportunity for the participants to learn about every aspect of theater, its protocols & etiquette, and to experience the challenges of an intense professional rehearsal process. They are the culminating projects of one and two-week intensives.

Supported and lead by professional directors, designers and technicians, our Theater FOR Kids BY Kids productions are fully staged and designed.
The teaching artist/designer to student ratio averages 1 for every 3-4 students –  all the resources of Lost Nation Theater and its staff supporting them.

Recent Theater FOR Kids BY Kids shows include: Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Peter Pan Jr., Red!-the long journey home, Velveteen Rabbit, The Three-No FOUR-Little Pigs, Alice in Wonderland Jr, Willy Wonka Jr, Dr. Seuss Fast & Loose, Into The Woods, Jr, R&J-abridged, Annie Jr, Ferdinand The Bull, and The History of the American Songbook Cabaret.

These opportunities are available for ages 9-21 (depending on the camp).

Take Your Performance to New Heights. Work with professionals and other students dedicated to pursuing excellence and exceeding expectations with dedicated commitment.  Tony winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (Lucky Stiff, My Favorite Year, Ragtime), bring to life all favorite Dr. Seuss characters in this enchanting musical which is the vehicle for our most advanced intensive.  Stretch your triple-threat potential as LNT’s professional directors provide participants with new tools and self-awareness to grow your acting, singing and dancing skills (often helping participants exceed what they thought possible of themselves.) Designed for aspiring professionals, the focus is on honing new skills through a rigorous & intense professional rehearsal process with specialized classes including character-development, physical acting, voice, choreography & dance, theater protocols and “biz-savvy” audition prep. Highest levels of concentration, collaboration, openness, ensemble-spirit, and self-discipline and self-motivation are demanded. Culminates in a fully-staged, professionally designed and directed production running for 5 performances. General auditions for acceptance into the Intensive’s Ensemble are in March & May. Callbacks for specific roles (within the ensemble) are in June. Notification of roles and distribution of scripts occurs early in July, giving cast members 3-4 weeks to memorize lines and lyrics before starting rehearsals. In two-weeks, ensemble members mount a full production of this cavorting caper of a musical by two of contemporary Broadway’s most respected writers.

Led by choreographer Taryn Noelle (winner, 2017 Gov’s Award for Excellence in Art Education.) director Sarah Jane Schostack (whose credits include serving as director for Lincoln Center shows) and musical director Tim Guilles (one of the most sought-after musical directors/accompanist in Vermont).
