Summer Youth Theater Labs

The Snow White Cast

Acting Workshop for ages 7-15

The focus is on skill development in a supportive professional environment.
NO AUDITION Necessary for these 1-Week Labs designed for 1st time & returning Labbies.

A lead instructor, assisted by guest artists, uses many elements of theater to explore participants’ own creativity. Each lab is tailored as much as possible to the chief interests of participants.

Activities may include: Movement, Voice, Improv, Song, Clowning; Exploration of Scripted Scenes; Development of Original Material; plus a Sharing Presentation for family and friends only at the end of the Lab.
Serious Fun for Serious Students!

Participants provide their own transportation, and lunch/ snacks.  Dress in layers, wear unrestrictive, comfortable, & appropriate clothing. Bring good-gripping indoor-only shoes to wear. No Flip-Flops!

  • Half-Day Sessions, Tues-Sat, July 6-10, 2010:

    A great introduction! Perfect for beginners, but also challenging enough for returning students.

    1. 9am-Noon: ages 7-9
    2. 1:30-4:30pm: ages 10-13

  • Full Day Sessions, Tues-Sat, July 20-24, 2010:

    A more intensive immersion. Perfect for those who already know they enjoy acting & theater!

    1. Group A: 9am-3pm: ages 8-10
    2. Group B: 9am-3pm: ages 11 & up

2-Week Summer Youth Music-Theater Production Lab

Acting & Performance Workshop For ages 9—16
Tues-Sat, August 10-21 (9am-3pm)

AUDITION REQUIRED (or prior LNT Lab Experience & Director’s Approval)

Focus is on learning skills through a professional rehearsal process in a safe supportive environment.
This full-day Youth Musical Theater Lab takes place at LNT, is designed for the experienced student, and results in fully produced public presentations of the musical Alice in Wonderland.

Directed by Tara Lee Downs, assisted by Eric Love, with professional production design support, the Lab develops acting, singing & movement skills and provides exposure to the technical aspects of theater, through specialized classes, exercises, and a professional rehearsal process. Vocal arrangements created particularly for ages 9-16.
Participants provide their own transportation, and lunch/ snacks
. Dress in layers, wear unrestrictive, comfortable, & appropriate clothing. Bring good-gripping indoor-only shoes to wear. No Flip-Flops!

Alice in Wonderland performances:

50% Non-refundable deposit required.
Scholarship asst. may be available.
