Show Overview
OUR TOWN
Pulitzer Prize Winner by Thornton Wilder
for Our Community
“People have it in mind that Our Town is old. [But] Our Town is synonymous for our world, for our time.” — Vogue
This beloved American classic wowed Broadway audiences as recently as 2024!
Surprisingly modern, ordinary moments become unforgettable in Our Town.
"We all know that something is eternal. And it ain’t houses and it ain’t names, and it ain’t earth, and it ain’t even the stars . . . everybody knows in their bones that something is eternal, and that something has to do with human beings." - The Stage Manager, Our Town
Our production of this funny & touching masterwork will feature local actors & ‘characters’ some of whom may have been “born to play the part.”
LNT founder Kim Bent takes on The Stage Manager (a role he first played in high school).
LNT welcomes the return of many "old friends" - including farmer/filmaker & actor George Woodard (Pump Boys, Woody Guthrie) Jesse Hawkes (who was an apprentice starring in The Rocking Horse Winner as a pre-teen back in 1991!); Bill Pelton (who first worked with LNT in 1986 - even before its residency at City Hall!), Jim Phinney (The Tempest), and "camper veterans" (Elsheba Joseph and Everett Gill); as well as many new faces!
Humorous, poignant, & profound.
“No play describes more powerfully how we imagine ourselves.” – New York Daily News
“No play ever moved me so deeply.” – The New Yorker
