Welcome to the World of Broadway Dance Styles!
Dancing to Broadway show tunes from beginning to end, participants will warm up to build the strength needed for safe dancing, learn dance steps and combinations, and explore how they can use movement to tell a story.
Participants should wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothing that allows them to move freely (no jeans, please).
Clean jazz shoes, ballet shoes, or dance sneakers may be worn.
Please, wear indoor shoes only. Long hair should be securely pulled away from the face.
Individual & group work serves first-time and young students.
This workshop is full of laughter and the support so vital to making participants feel safe to learn new things, to take creative risks and to fully express themselves. Participants will come away with new skills and confidence.
Class will culminate with an Interactive Sharing of the works created during the 8-week session.
(If it's possible, we will livestream the sharing so family unable to be in the theater can watch from the safety of their home.)
No audition necessary. No pre-requisites.
Suitable for first time and returning students, age 9-12.
