Show Boat Pop-up Comedy Club is inspired by the ever growing comedy scene around the state and the nation, and will showcase some of the best professional comedians in Vermont, New England, and beyond, with a focus on creating an exciting hub for comedy in central Vermont. Created and hosted by Montpelier comic Maggie Lenz in collaboration with Lost Nation Theater. Bar service provided by Charlie-O’s World Famous.

Show Boat Comedy Club will be making its first appearance ever on May 10th at Lost Nation Theater City Hall Arts Space. Headlining this premier event is acclaimed comedian Dan Boulger, who began his comedy career in late 2004 only one week into his freshman year of college. Quickly becoming a favorite in the New England area, Boulger started performing nationally after winning the Boston Comedy Festival in 2006 at the age of 20. He has since received recognition from both audiences and industry alike having performed on Comedy Central, The BBC, and the HBO Aspen Comedy Festival, and most recently has made multiple appearances on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen. He has appeared on several high profile college tours such as the Comedy Central Live and College Humor Live tours and has been able to be the supporting act for many famous comedians including Bill Burr, Louis CK and Zach Galifianakis.

Boulger will be joined for this show by three of Vermont’s most talented comedians: Bitsy Biron, Tracy Dolan, and Kendall Farrell.

Bitsy Biron was a finalist in Vermont’s Funniest Comedian contest in 2014. She hosts an open mic and monthly showcase in Barre Vermont and she has performed all over the state as well as dipping her toe into the Boston scene. She is the creator of FEMCOM, a women’s comedy forum and performing group.

Tracy Dolan was a finalist in the Vermont's Funniest Comedian contest in 2015 and also performed in Boston's Women in Comedy Festival and Vermont's Green Mountain Comedy Festival.

Kendall Farrell is a Vermont based comedian who performs across the Northeast. He won the Vermont's Funniest Comedian contest in 2015 and hosts a weekly open mic in Burlington.

Maggie Lenz is the founder of the Show Boat Comedy Club. While She is happy performing comedy all over Vermont, she really enjoys being able to bring it home to Montpelier for her neighbors. She produces a weekly open mic in the Capital city at Charlie-O’s, and a co-produces a monthly showcase at Sweet Melissa’s.

Maggie got her start in comedy & events "back in the day" as a high school student working with Lost Nation Theater, and a member of its Teen-run "The Incident" - a variety show, comedy, cabaret happening hosted by LNT but organized by the students.
