More on RED's Opening Night

Opening Night - Friday June 3 – of RED John Logan's Tony Award Winner for Best Play will feature some extra special events!

 

But, you say, the show starts Thursday, why isn't Thursday opening? Because Thursday is a Preview Performance.- Preview is an industry term which means tha tyou are in perfomrance but you are also still in rehearsal. Of course audiences see the full show, but directors and designers are making adjustments based on audience response and there is still rehearsal with the actors during the day. Once a show officially opens the directors and designers jobs are done.

So - our Opening Night of RED - on Friday June 3 - will feature a few extra perks for audience members to celebrate the occassion!

First:  Sweet Melissa's will be on hand to provide a Cash Bar. 

Unlike other nights, when LNT has to remain "dry" to abide by City Hall (and Vt Liquour Control laws) on Friday Tom Moog's Sweet Melissa's will be there for you to purchase a glass of wine, beer, or perhpas a "spirit".

Second:  Artist Galen Cheney attends and Live Music will fill the air

Thanks to Helen Day Arts Center curator Rachel Moore, RED audience will get to enjoy the work of visual artist Galen Cheney. A Middlesex resident who's work has been shown internationally and who has won several awards for her work. Galen will be at Opening Night. Feel free to chat with her about her paintings. (Read more about the exhibit)

Third:  Special Treats - including Fortune Cookies

Mark Rothko was a big fan of chinese food as you will learn in the play. So LNT is providing opening night guests with their fortunes!  Additionally, the concessions cafe will feature goodies not typically available.
